Aid and Attendance Misconceptions
A recent program by the Veterans Administration conducted a survey of the VA's own officers in regraard to the Aid and Attendance Benefit. It seems that many of the employees of this organization are underinformed or even misinformed about the program. In over 30% of the cases, VSO's offered incorrect information to someone seeking the benefit.
The results were not too surprising, when you consider that taxpayers who call the IRS have an almost 40% chance of getting the wrong answer there. The VA has a much harder course to navigate though. With thousands and thousands of disabled or injured veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, the workers at the VA have an inhuman workload. With government cutbacks, the burden promises to be much worse for them.
Many families turn to the Internet for information and unfortunately, their luck is not much better there. Clearly this is an irony, coming from an article posted on the web, but the basis of the facts on this site are verified by our record of success at handling over ten thousand applications over the course of almost a decade.
